Made by Pauline

“My dream has always been to own a little pastry shop.”

The smell of croissants fresh out of the oven in the morning, coffee and hot chocolate while it’s cold outside, few small tables by the window, couples having sweet treats and neighbors making their last stop before going home to pick up some fresh bread for dinner. It was just my imagination running wild back home.
A few years ago, I left my corporate job, moved to New York and married a Frenchman. Yes, you read well! A Frenchman, who would have thought! Sometimes it seemed to me that my husband missed Paris, so I began to bake some French cookies and pastries to remind him about his home sweet home. To my biggest surprise it was simply delicious, I decided to go learn and perfect my recipes during a vacation trip in Paris for a month.
What started as a hobby became a passion. In Paris i have discovered the art of making the perfect macaron. The process is certainly easy like all French recipes, but like all simple things in life, it can be very easy to make it a flop. Today I’m happy to say that I live my passion. What was all a dream became a reality. Baking for living is what I do now and I have never been so happy.
We bake all our macrons with love!

Great Good Fine Ok

Is it possible to be nostalgic for the future? Brooklyn synthpop duo Great Good Fine Ok met one evening in 2013 and by the next morning had written their first song together, “You’re the One for Me,” a gauzy, heart-thumping anthem that hit #1 on Hype Machine twice in one month and instantly established the group’s sound with Jon Sandler’s dancefloor falsetto soaring over Luke Moellman’s lush post-Space Age production, the perfect soundtrack for retrofuturism. An EP, Body Diamond, soon followed, as did a slate of shows at that year’s SXSW festival and a deal with Neon Gold and Epic Records. In 2014 GGFO’s second EP, 2M2H, reached #10 on the iTunes dance chart and featured the St. Lucia collaboration “Something to Believe In,” which premiered on Entertainment Weekly. In keeping with this collaborative spirit, GGFO co-wrote and performed on The Chainsmoker’s single “Let You Go,” recorded a cover of Phil Collins’s “Easy Lover” with fellow Brooklynite Panama Wedding, and produced the song “Shapeshifting” with Irish folk-pop singer Orla Gartland, whom Jon and Luke met after their headlining show at Notting Hill Arts Club in London. They have also remixed songs by St Lucia, Foxes, Twenty One Pilots, Luxley, Little Daylight, and many others.

Aeroplane

Vito De Luca aka Aeroplane, the Italian-Belgian producer, has established himself as a party-starting DJ, a remixer du jour, and a pioneer of the nu-disco and Balearic music scenes. His unique “analog house” sound and distinct writing style sets him apart from the rest. In the past few years, Aeroplane has produced several HypeMachine chart-topping remixes, including Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie,” Mystery Skull’s “Paralyzed,” and Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap.” In the past two years, Aeroplane has released several Beatport-charting EP’s including his latest “Love On Hold” on the Glitterbox label, launched a new “sample-house” project called FLUSH with Defected Records, launched an acclaimed collaborative group with Alex Metric (called Metroplane), and teamed up with Purple Disco Machine and Aloe Blacc for a single released on Spinnin’ Deep.

Elderbrook

To call Elderbrook an electronic artist would be to undermine his many talents as a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Grammy-nominated Alexander Kotz is the very definition of “versatile”, a modern day triple threat – his musical influences range from country and soul to rock and gospel, whilst he’s also classically trained in piano and guitar.

Despite this, it was Elderbrook’s undoubtedly dancefloor-orientated collaboration with German duo Andhim that first cast him into the dance world spotlight; his distinctive lilting vocals resounding in clubs across the world, with Mixmag naming it one of their top tracks of 2015. Prior to this he’d released just one debut EP under the Elderbrook moniker, ‘Could’ – with the title track currently sitting over 6 million streams on Spotify alone.

For Kotz, “phonetics are as important as lyrics. My voice adds another important harmonic element to the sounds.” It’s this which marks out the distinctive Elderbrook production style; those soulful vocals adding a sense of emotion unlike any other standard club fare. There’s a sense of depth and texture on each one of his releases; whilst he admits he’s enamoured with “the power of the computer”, it’s the electronic and acoustic guitar, synth pads and percussion coming from every available prop that give his tracks character.

Hayden James

Hayden James may have only released his first track in late June 2013, but he has amassed millions of plays for his work. Producing immense summer house jams with soulful and evocative vocals, his music has stockpiled consistently rave reviews from the US, Europe and Australia alike, being labelled the “face of the new Australian production music scene”.

Hayden’s first single “Permission to Love” garnered worldwide love and attention hitting #1 most blogged on Hype Machine, as well as becoming the most played track on national broadcasting giant Triple J in Australia. His debut EP out on tastemaker label Future Classic garnered much love worldwide, but didn’t prepare the indie label for the success Hayden would have with hit single “Something About You”, released early 2015 on the label’s yearly compilation album and now counting over 50 million streams and a Gold certification in Australia.

His latest track “NUMB,” released in October 2017, has already scored over 15 million streams, a Gold certification in Australia, and a #32 position on triple j’s Hottest 100, and was accompanied by a huge headline tour of North America.

Autograf

Combining two art students and a derivatives trader into an all-encompassing art project was surely a novel concept. Autograf — formed by Jake Carpenter, Louis Kha, and Mikul Wing — craft a shimmery mix of futuristic electronica with a D.I.Y. ethos that melds the skills from their former day jobs. When the electronic music scene reached a certain peak, the group wanted to bring some sexy back to the genre. After remixing a string of songs by prominent artists like Lorde and Pharrell, they released their first original song, “Dream,” through Ultra Records, followed by “Running” and “Metaphysical,” featuring Autograf-designed paintings and mixed-media pieces.

Autograf’s future philosophy and artistic talents led them to create their own stage installations, which they hoped would revolutionize the electronic music scene. Following the release of their first three originals, the trio released their debut EP, ‘Future Soup,’ and continued the momentum with their Hype Machine dominating single “Nobody Knows” via Armada Music and remix of “Rockabye” by Clean Bandit and Sean Paul. Without slowing down, the trio then made their Big Beat Records debut with their jam “You Might Be” featuring Lils. Following stellar performances at Coachella, the group released their single “Simple” featuring Victoria Zaro with Spinnin Records.

Autograf continue to grow in various aspects of art culture, having recently opened a Future Factory art gallery in Bangkok, featuring Joan Cornella as the opening exhibition. This side to the project will come as no surprise to fans of the band, who designed and built their own lighting rig for their last US tour. The guys just revealed their own streetwear line as well. A By Autograf combines their passion for a perfect intersection between art, fashion and music.

Klingande

Champion of the melodic house genre, Cedric Steinmyller – best known as Klingande – has been breathing new life into the electronic music world with his impeccable productions and uplifting sound, cementing his reputation as one of the most refreshing and original producers around today.

A welcome departure from the big room house sound that has been dominating the scene of late, Klingande’s presence of sublime melodies has made him one of the leading figureheads within his field. Releasing standout music alongside fellow tropical house founders Kygo, Bakermat and Robin Schulz, his refreshing and innovative sound has influenced the likes of Lost Frenquencies, Kungs, Ofenbach and many more; cementing him as a pioneer of the tropical and melodic house genre.
